Events Calendar

This year's St Ives Food and Drink Festival will run over the weekend of Saturday 18th May + Sunday 19th May.

As well as the Food and Drink Producers' Marquee which will run on both days from 10am - 4pm, we will be adding events, activities and attractions over the coming weeks.

And don't forget, we will be located on Porthminster Beach this year so expect more space, more producers and more things to do and see.

4pm - 5.30pm - Children's Pasty Making Class (Tregenna Castle)

No Cornish food festival would be complete without a Pasty - so popular was last year's Pasty Making Class at Tregenna we are pleased to announce it's back and will officially start the St Ives Food and Drink Festival 2013.

This is a FREE event and we have a maximum of 30 pasties to make - all under the watchful eye of Executive Head Chef Dom Wells - so whether your youngster wants to make one all by themselves or you make it a family effort, Dom will take you through your paces of making the perfect pasty which you can take home to cook and enjoy at your leisure.

We are also honoured to announce that Eunice Woolcock, Food Glorious Food's SW regional finalist with her secret family recipe for the Cornish Pasty will be carrying out the pasty demo and judging the results.

Sand Art drop in workshops - by Beaten Green - www.beatengreen.co.uk/workshop/sand-art-postcard-workshop-all-ages

A fun workshop to inspire young and old alike, using everyday materials to create bright artworks to take home.

Sand Art starts with a selection of pre-cut cards with a layer of adhesive (no messy glue required parents will be pleased to note!)  - choose which image you want to have a go at, before peeling back sections and scattering coloured sand onto individual areas. Soon a unique image builds up, as each area is coloured with bright, light-reflecting sand. Have a go at mixing colours and experiment with different techniques – the possibilities are endless.
